1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Pydium website, web and mobile apps, and the learning products offered through them, including StepSync (together, the "Platform"). The Platform is operated by Pydium ("Pydium", "we", "us", "our"), based at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), Doha, Qatar.
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- Pydium is designed for students from Year 5 through A-Levels, their parents or guardians, teachers and schools.
- If a student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must create the account or give consent, and is responsible for the student's use of the Platform. Where a school provides access, the school is responsible for obtaining any required consent.
- You must give accurate information when registering (including a valid email and phone number) and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away at admin@pydium.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
- Accounts are personal. You may not share, sell or transfer your account to anyone else.
3. Subscriptions and payment
- Access to the Platform requires a paid subscription. Current plans and prices are shown on our Pricing page and at checkout. Prices are in Qatari Riyals (QAR) unless stated otherwise.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Tap Payments. Pydium does not store your full card details.
- Auto-renewal: monthly plans renew every month, 6-month plans renew every 6 months and annual plans renew every year. Your payment method is charged automatically at the start of each period, until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- We may change our prices. Any change applies from your next renewal, and we will notify you by email at least 14 days before it takes effect.
- If a payment fails, we may pause access to paid features until payment is completed.
- Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
- Schools and institutions that subscribe under a separate written agreement are governed by that agreement where it differs from these Terms.
4. Acceptable use
When using the Platform, you agree not to:
- share quiz questions, answers or materials outside the Platform, or copy, scrape or resell them;
- attempt quizzes on behalf of another student or help others cheat;
- upload anything unlawful, offensive, abusive, or that infringes anyone else's rights;
- try to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access;
- interfere with the Platform's security or performance, or introduce viruses or harmful code;
- use bots, scripts or automated tools to access the Platform without our written permission;
- use the Platform for any commercial purpose other than its intended educational use.
5. Our content and your content
Our content
The Platform and everything on it, including questions, quizzes, videos, reports, software, designs, and the names "Pydium" and "StepSync", belong to Pydium or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for your own education while your subscription is active. You may not use our names or logos without our written permission.
Your content
You keep ownership of anything you submit, such as written answers or uploaded files. You give us permission to store and process it to provide the Platform, generate reports, and improve our services, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Third-party services
The Platform may link to or rely on third-party services (for example, payment processing, Google Sign-In or embedded videos). We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Platform available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance, and we may add, change or remove features. If we remove a core feature you have paid for, we will tell you and you may cancel and request a pro-rated refund for the unused period.
8. No warranty
Pydium is a learning and assessment tool. It supports, but does not replace, school or tuition. We work hard to keep our content accurate and aligned with the Edexcel and Cambridge syllabuses, but the Platform is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee any particular academic result, exam grade, or that the content is free of errors.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by the laws of the State of Qatar:
- we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of opportunity, or exam outcomes, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform;
- our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to compensate Pydium for any claims, losses or costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Platform.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect other users or the Platform. Where reasonable, we will warn you first. You can close your account at any time by contacting us. On closure, your licence to use the Platform ends and we will handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and notify you by email of any significant change. Continuing to use the Platform after the change means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Qatar. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Qatar. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
14. General
- If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Platform.
